Celebrate Spring at Blossomtime Festival

This May Day Bank Holiday weekend, make sure you are part of a truly unique celebration in the heart of Herefordshire.

Blossomtime 2025, held on Sunday 4th – Monday 5th May, showcases the scenic parishes of Marcle Ridge and the vibrant beauty of the area’s orchards during their peak bloom season.

Organised by The Big Apple Association, a community benefit society dedicated to preserving the heritage of the area’s orchards, it’s the perfect backdrop for a day filled with local charm, breathtaking views, and plenty of fun.

Explore the Orchards

Blossomtime celebrates the orchards famous for cider fruit, as well as delicious dessert and culinary varieties. With four venues to visit, each within a 10 to 15-minute walk of one other, revel in the natural beauty of the orchards in full bloom.

A tractor and trailer service is also available for those who require assistance travelling to and from each site.

As the Information Hub of the entire event, head here first to purchase your entrance tickets. There’s a free car park, refreshments, and toilets available, and all walks (both guided and independent) start here.

Plus, on Monday at 4pm, Leominster Morris and Pinsley Mill Morris will perform.

As the dedicated centre for arts, crafts, demonstrations, workshops, and talks, join stallholders for inspiring conversations about textiles, sustainability, and materials, as well as plenty of shopping opportunities.

Stop off and enjoy a perry under the very trees that produced the pears!

Wander amongst the fruit trees, soaking all up sounds, scents and sights of nature (and enjoying a sample or two too!).

Plus, local cider and perry makers will be selling a range of bottled and draught ciders, perries, apple juice, honey, jam, and chutney.

Also, enjoy music and entertainment throughout the two-day event from local choirs, bands, dancers, and poets.

Plan Your Day

From 10am – 5pm, the event will be alive with guided walks, expert talks, and an opportunity to learn about the history and cultivation of these famous orchards.

The event is family-friendly – with most outdoor areas also welcoming dogs so your four-legged friends can tag along too.

Entry (providing access to all four sites) is £5 per person, with under 16s going free! Please note: while card payments are widely accepted, some locations are cash-only.

Make A Day of It

Why not start your day with a hearty breakfast at our Riverside Bar & Eatery before heading over to Putley Parish Hall?
