The Golden Valley Pilgrim Way Experience Day route
The Golden Valley Pilgrim Way is a newly established pilgrimage route that winds through the glorious Golden Valley of Herefordshire. The experience day offers a taster of the route incorporating a 10 mile section setting off from Eways Harold village leading up to the holy well site above the village.
The trail then progresses on to the former Cistercian Dore Abbey to admire its beautiful medieval architecture. After visiting Dore Abbey, the trail meanders alongside the river Dore bypassing Gwatkin Cider, where cider fans can pop in for a visit, if desired.
The gradient then scales up over a ridge traversing through farmland and woodlands offering opportunities to enjoy the breathtaking views over the Golden Valley and gradually reaching the end of the trail in the village of Kingstone.
